After spending 30 years under the care of a Registered Dietician who created custom meal plans for my body’s needs and changing that plan as my needs changed, I moved to Arizona in 2021. After years of eating “clean” or what you would consider healthy, I ran into a big road block. I could not lose any weight no matter what I tried. Cutting portions, cutting out carbs, exercising and cooking meals at home. My husband, however, was benefitting from all of my healthy meals and was able to lose weight and keep it off. How great that was for him, and how terribly depressing that was for me. No sugar, no carbs, small portions and I was actually gaining weight. Discouraged and deflated (sometimes crying in my closet after trying to pick out an outfit), I still continued to do what I thought was right and not change anything that might risk my overall health. After about a year of aching joints and feeling off, I ran into a friend of mine who had just lost about 35 pounds.
