After spending 30 years under the care of a Registered Dietician who created custom meal plans for my body’s needs and changing that plan as my needs changed, I moved to Arizona in 2021. Although I would consider myself a disciplined eater, I found that not having someone monitoring my changing needs was not working. My weight slowly crept up and my clothes were getting tight. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Prolean Wellness for a body composition scan, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. After years of eating “clean” or what you would consider healthy, I ran into a big road block. I could not lose any weight no matter what I tried. Cutting portions, cutting out carbs, exercising and cooking meals at home. My husband, however, was benefitting from all of my healthy meals and was able to lose weight and keep it off. How great that was for him, and how terribly depressing that was for me. No sugar, no carbs, small portions and I was actually gaining weight. Discouraged and deflated (sometimes crying in my closet after trying to pick out an outfit), I still continued to do what I thought was right and not change anything that might risk my overall health. After about a year of aching joints and feeling off, I ran into a friend of mine who had just lost about 35 pounds. This was all very important for me to know and hear. I wanted a healthy lifestyle, not a temporary fix. I signed up and started the very next week. I was able to see from the body scan why I needed to concentrate on this program and get the fat off. I loved having the blood test, which showed my cortisol levels were keeping me from losing any weight, no matter how hard I tried. At least there was proof that I was not crazy and that my body was indeed working against my efforts. After the first 5 days, my hands were not aching anymore and that was all I needed to continue my journey through the tough first week. But, and this is big, I was determined to change my lifestyle to accomplish health for my life. I am down 25 pounds and loving every minute of it. I have not been at this weight since my 30’s. Yes, I have introduced a cocktail back into my diet, a piece of pizza, and occasionally some popcorn. But now my body is able to handle it and get rid of it quickly. I happen to come across this company after watching the morning show Sonoran living. So in June 2023 I called and made an appointment. After talking with Jeff I was convinced this was the correct approach to my new weight loss journey. Its a medically guided program using a DEXA scan of your body and thorough blood work up they were able to put together a healthy nutritional guided program with added supplement to help correct what wasn't working in my body. After 6 months I have lost a total of 50lb and i have learned how to maintain this weight I now have the tools needed to understand how food effects me what to eat and what not to eat. I feel amazing and I feel balanced this was my weight loss journey now that I am feeling better less stress on my knees and joints I am going to starting increasing my exercise program to help lose some more weight and strengthen by body and tone up.
